The Outdoor Community Classroom at Buchanan Park officially opens on Saturday, September 20th at 10 am with activities for inquisitive students of all ages.
Let art, science and your own curiosity connect you to the wonders of nature right in your own backyard. Try your hand at mushrooming or nature journaling during presentations in the new Learning Circle. Discover the benefits of our urban trees using the amazing iTree tool to estimate carbon sequestration and stormwater capture. Add your touch to a collective art project and get the scoop on why bugs really matter.
Meet artists, environmentalists, scientists, poets and your neighbors as we celebrate this new community space, while learning our role in protecting our natural resources for a more resilient future for us all.
